And These Are the Days of My Life...

My blessed boys sensed I was feeling a little sad about sending them back to school shortly. Their male intuition forced them to participate in behaviors that would make me happy to send them back and it worked! I am now just about giddy that in three days time they will not be able to wrestle/argue/bite/kick/breathe on one another!
I was so desperate on Friday to keep them entertained that I actually took them to the County Fair. By myself. With no plans to actually spend money there. We lasted about 40 minutes before home looked like a sanctuary again.

The kids weren't impressed with all the nice quilts and artwork displayed. But they couldn't get enough of the LEGO display. And look at my sweet girl, Noelle. She must be trying out for KISS.

I think the Olympics ruined this for us. It was a group of young vaulters who do gymnastics on a horse. After watching a few kids be bounced around in strange positions Isaac looked at me and said, "This is it??" He would have been more impressed if he hadn't seen what gold medalist gymnasts can do.

A good part of summer is being able to wash your cars, water the lawn and bathe your kids all at the same time.
We are now headed off for our last hurrah before school starts Wednesday. Lagoon, HAFB, Treehouse Museum and a cozy night together in a hotel room. I am pretty sure somebody will be breathing on somebody else at some point during this family getaway. I just need to remind myself that they are doing it so I won't have that emotional breakdown at the school doors.....

I'm so jealous - I'm supposed to be going up to Treehouse soon for a meeting, but trying desperately to figure out how to do that with the kids all in school. Noelle could certainly give Gene Simmons a run for his money (especially now that he's been fired by The Donald).

And just so you aren't TOO excited about school... I can guarantee you that after they all come home for the day - they jump right back into breathing on eachother.

oh, and how could I forget! Horse gymnastics reminds me of that old Toby Tyler Disney movie from... probably WAY before your time... I didn't even realize they even did that anymore. Yeah, now that you know how impressed the boys were I wouldn't bother renting the movie - although maybe the monkey would make it more fun?

I hope you guys have fun on your trip.
That's true! THe fair shouldn't have been the same time as the Olympics. Ha ha..poor Isaac. Normal talented people aren't even comparable to Olympians.

what a way to wrap up the summer!
still haven't made it to Lagoon, you'll have to tell me the hot spots so we can hopefully go next summer!
can't wait til your cement is poured and your very own Isaac turns into an Olympian athlete!

Look at you guys not letting the summer pass by without some big time fun. It is like you are reliving the reunion of 2000...something.

I'm very curious about what you are doing with your yard??? Especially since I am in the fantasizing stage of planning ours.

Giddy is a good word. I like to pretend I'm feeling more energetic and hopeful just due to nice fall air but it is perhaps not having to keep track of everyone 24 /7 . Once they go to school I know where they are (I think)for a while. I will miss some things about having them home but next year will be here in about a minute so that's okay!

Bless your heart for taking them to the county fair...I would've just said ewww at the first faint smell of cow crap and left. Maybe your boys would've been more entertained at the cowgirl gymnast if she had a glittery leotard on-try it? I prefer to think that your sweet Noelle is just recalling the clip of sweet little Jenna Bush as she was chauffeured away with W.
