Not quite The Plaza

Goodbye turkeys on our wall. Hello Christmas decor...

(please imagine darling pix of Christmas decor here since I'm not really all that on top of it and am slightly dreading pulling out the dusty boxes)

It's been a great couple of weeks. What do Donny Osmond, BYU football and RSL all have in common? That's right--huge wins. We'll take any reason to party over here.

Thanksgiving break was spent enjoying family on both sides and partaking of good food and fun. A lowlight was when I attempted to arm wrestle a pregnant lady and another SIL and stalemated (is that a word?) both times! Totally pumping iron until Christmas so I can have a surefire win and feel good about myself.

Another lowlight was Ethan's middle of the night journey to the ER for breathing difficulties. We can officially say he has asthma. Bummer. He spent a couple nights at the hospital. I had a hard time with him there because in a perfect world there should be no need for a pediatric wing in a hospital. In my mind he was pitiful and looking like this in his hospital bed...

But really he was usually like this.....

The big Cheeseball loved the hotel aspects of the hospital--"Mom, look my own bathroom!" "They bring you food Mom! Like in a restaurant!" "I get my own remote control!" He also didn't mind the one-on-one with mom and dad where we spent lots and lots of hours playing tic-tac-toe, reading and coloring. He's home now and hopefully there won't be another visit to the Hospital Hilton.
That's our update in a nutshell. Gotta go do some pushups now.

sorry to hear about the hospital stay...James is headed there on Fri. for an injury he sustained LAST Thanksgiving.
Garrett looks like the sad Ethan on his bed right now, he's losing his first tooth and doesn't like the pain associated with losing it.
Loved all the turkeys...you need to send me these ideas sooner so I can use them at school.
hugs to you all!

Poor Ethan!! I can see why he would like getting waited on, every little kids dream!! (Just without the needles and the yucky suffocation feeling) I have a little one who is in and out of the "Hilton" with her breathing issues and it is NO fun!!! Good luck with the rest of the winter. I hope to NOT see you there anytime soon. (Or ever for that matter). If you ever need anything PLEASE let me know. I might be in Heber but I know how to order a mean pizza and have it delivered right to your door :)

Poor, poor Ethie....no good there.

You brushed right over your Thanksgiving feast and festivities. How much did you eat? How was your pumpkin pie?

Oh, and one last little thing..how can you really feel good about arm wrestling a prego lady? She must have been super-strong to not fall under your tricky hand movements.

What?? Poor Ethan! And poor you.. That is sad and scary. I will have to call you and get more details.

I've heard of an air filter that really helps, let me know if you want more info.

Something about Ethan just makes me want to hug him. Do you think he would let me? I'm glad he mostly had a good time at the hospital. Another good thing to come from this: I told William how brave Ethan was and now William (who has been dreading getting a flu shot for all the weeks we've been waiting for one) is bragging to his friends about how brave HE can be!

That's too bad the hospital had to be part of your holiday. Glad everything's okay.

He is so cute!!! He is just tiny in that big old miserable bed. I'm sorry he had to go to the hospital, that is horrible. I hope he doesn't have to go back even though it seems so LUXURIOUS. I guess you can tell him that Santa decided to pay for his wonderful stay instead of bringing toys.

I am so sorry that happened. Clearly we are bad friends. We didn't even know. Hope you guys have a nice Christmas!

Didn't even read this post, but feel bad for the poor fella in the hospital bed, and lots of sympathy for the parent who got to spend time the hospital room, and lots of jealousy for the kids who got to stay home with Dad and play!
