Easter goodies

We are eagerly anticipating our two annual Easter egg hunts tomorrow. I'm especially excited to take out some family members during our adult hunt. Nobody gets in the way of me and my Reeses p.b. eggs.
These hunts are great fun for the family but the kiddies get waaayyy too much candy and treats and then I am at a loss as to what to fill in their personal baskets via Easter Bunny. I just can't condone that much sugar in one weekend. Especially when 75% of the children have no self control on candy consumption. (Mitch is the abnormal one. He still has good Valentine's Day candy hiding in his room).

So I got a little creative this year. Here are some items my kids will find in their baskets:
Some quick processed foods! My kids will be in heaven. I even got the brand name Mac 'n Cheese for Ike. I will generously tell them they can eat 'their' meals for lunch that day and I won't have to take time to make them lunch! Win-win for everyone. I know I am a genius.

I happen to be the biggest fan of Reese's PB cups on the planet and I've been running every night this week for practice.
Good job on the creative "treats" It's a winner for everyone.

Very smart! Our stake made our fast Sunday the Sunday before conference, so we're good to go.

Great idea, and KRAFT mac-n-chez,could only be fron the Easter Bunny. My kids are in that 75% and are sick from all the candy by 10 am. Lucky me. However I steal all of their pb eggs :) (no one in my family does adult hunts.)

I mocked, but now I have to repent. So I was at Macey's trying to find something that would fill some space that wasn't candy, and I wasn't doin' their (now) 2 dollar dollar section toys. So we're getting some mac n cheese in the little bowls and some beef ravs to go with their cans of pop.

Look you started a fast food trend for Easter, way to go Megz! I read it too late, but I DID find Gatorade in colors that the kids like : ) James and I spoke in church today so I'm glad to be in my pjs now...bring on the corned beef. We skipped the March tradition by accident so we're trying it out for Easter : )

Well done....I'm sad I can't be there to take some of the PB eggs off your hands. that much sugar can't be god for you either.

Did you seriously put that in their baskets??? You ARE a genius!! I love it! We get so over-candied at Easter time that I struggle with the basket thing too. How can I send my kids on 2 egg hunts and then give them a basket stuffed full of more candy the next day? Yet every year I fall victim to the marketing ploys and spend way too much money on sugar. However, with all this complaining, even I can't pass up a good marshmallow peep.
