My secret talents

I'm sure you have noticed that lots of bloggers are good at photography. And if you have, then you also have noticed that I am one of those bloggers who is not. All those buttons on the camera are there to confuse me and take away my freedom. I rebel against them and then end up with pictures like these:

Isaac had his first basketball game last weekend and there were great shots to be had (please do not try to make that into a pun. Puns are not punny no matter what your grandma says). I happened to take all these non-great shots. Hub was too busy coaching or he would have redeemed me for posterity's sake. You may just roll your eyes at me and say, "How hard is it to push the flash button?" And I will tell you that if that is the little lightning bolt thing, I think I did and this still happened!
Since I don't really like looking incompetent then I leave my defense to you. Maybe I just like the mysterious look of this basketball game. Maybe the refs turned the lights out as a test to see how well the boys could 'feel' their teammates presence. Maybe I wanted dark pictures so you couldn't see Ike's sweaty face (he is the biggest heater head!) Or maybe this is one talent I just don't have. Nah, that's not it.
Next game I will try again and I am sure the pix will turn out better and you will actually be able to see Ike's red face. Of course that may mean that I am the one coaching and Hub's taking the pictures, but I won't tell.

blame it on the gymnasium lighting... that's my excuse for never getting a decent shot of basketball games, dance concerts, awards assemblies...

of course, it could just be that I really need a good photography class!

your pics are just lovely! And gymnasium lighting is bad!

wow- cool blog background.
Ike is the best little sports pro. It must be comforting to know where he's headed in his young life (and to skip the violin lessons).

As for the photos, what are you talking about? I thought you went into photoshop and put a cool mystery glaze over the pictures.

I'm with T -- it's the gym. Every picture I've taken in one -- unless it's very close up -- turns out just like the ones you took. I tried some of futsol last year and ended up deleting them since we the kids were just dark smudges.

Yes, I believe it was a special test to play in the dark. What better way to form comraderie? Better luck next time! LOL

It is hard to get good shots indoors and especially with fluorescant lighting! At least you took pics and I dount that Isaac will even notice the darkness.

fun to see Isaac in action! alot of indoor shots do come out dark and SOME are redeemable when you pull them into Windows Photo Gallery...at least that's the program my pictures get pulled into magically!??! but who am I to offer computer help when I'm always needing it myself!

Love your pictures dark or light. Basketball is one of my favorite sports to watch the kids play probably because its an inside sport. Next game please get the photo of Isaac dunking it.
