Recent Stuff

Summer vacation! Wahoo! I have grand hopes of teaching my children all sorts of things that their public education has failed to deliver. Mitchell also has some grand ideas. He delivered Noelle to me with whiskers drawn on her face. I think he was going to do his own version of the Broadway hit 'Cats'. (side note: I paid big bucks to see this at the Capitol Theatre several years ago and thought it was the lamest thing ever. Does anyone really love it?) I would have yelled at him more for drawing on his sister but since it is summer we have our windows open and the neighbors might hear.
Then we had the Fathers and Sons. Hub remembered the camera while they were packing up to return home. Oh well, documentation is documentation no matter when it occurred.

Ethan packing up his beloved Tiger. He told me Tiger could go because he wouldn't snore

Ethan, Isaac and Mitch (with his doggy on his head--apparently he doesn't snore either)

While the boys were away I had some good times with some other men-less females and did lots of cleaning that never seems to happen with lots of boys running around.

Then since I am a good sister, I saw the flick 'Baby Mama' with Cold Cocoa so she could get out of the house before her hub is out of town. I found it a very funny movie. So did the guy on the front row who laughed with gusto at everything. So maybe I was laughing more at him laughing? Dang, I hate it when you come home and second guess your laughs. But if you love Tina Fey humor then you would like this movie.

And those are some special things that happened. Please stay tuned because I will be doing a special 10-year wedding anniversary edition. And I know everyone is dying to see how much weight Hub has put on since our Big Day.

Please tell me you've calculated wrong, you have NOT been married 10 years?

I wish they'd do a mother-daughter shopping extravaganza or something. Why do the males always get to bond?

Make sure to include lots of pictures of you and Leon looking in love on your getaway. It is your 10 year after all. Your rebirth!

okay - in defense of Cats - well, maybe defense is not the word... the first time I saw it I enjoyed it thoroughly - I had studied the poetry in school and gotten myself all excited for it and the production (the broadway touring company in Denver) was really quite good, and I went with my family, who are theatre people at heart. The second time I saw it I was with Quinn and I began to watch it from his angle... and the goofiness and general ??? part of it came through more strongly... the cast wasn't as talented and the theatre wasn't as grand... but hey, the tickets were paid for by someone else this time!

and ten years 'eh... I think I'm glad I have a few years to plan now that everyone's posting such extravagant anniversary blog-posts... my next milestone one is still a few years away (having missed ten by a few years already)

PS, I don't mean to pick a fight here (ok maybe I do) but, there is NO defense for "CATS". Period the end.

Cats ranks right up there with "Nim's Island!" Just go to be entertained!
Although the song "Memory" from Cats is a favorite of mine to play on the piano. Can't knock that one!
10 years...does make you feel old, but accomplished! Hope your anniversary get-away is fabulous!
Hope you post those wedding photos soon - I haven't pried into my computer to find them : )

Humans dressed up like cats? People pay for that. That ranks right up there with people that think that dogs are their kids...and I am a big dog lover so I can say that...

I'm NOT a dog lover... not even a dog liker... but then cats are just nasty too... could I be a fish person? my point being I'd much rather see them prance around on stage too human and too far away for sneezing than making a mess in my house :) The music has merit folks, even if the dancing is annoying!
And really, NOTHING short of the insane asylum ranks with people treating animals like kids - I had to leave the store once when a lady had a chimp in her baby carrier, I just couldn't risk laughing out loud when I commented on her cute baby

I will conclude the Cats debate. Nobody can knock the music. But once you throw grown people in leotards and makeup whiskers---all credibilty is lost. The worst was when our local community theatre did it and they were walking in the parades in hundred degree heat in those horrible leos! Painful for us all.

wait a second...hold on...cat debate not over...Nobody said leotards...that totally changes my view - I mis-spoke. Cats rocks...as long as there is leotards.

I still don't really know what "Het Up" means. But I have a feeling it can be applied to these comments.

Jellical cats...jellical cats....memories...in my mind there are memories....BD teases me for how bad I am at lyrics to songs. Anyway that's all i know about cats.

Good for you for having some girl fun. That kind of fun is WAY better than camping.

BTW I get out of Girls' camp this year because of Cannon--NO BABIES allowed not even for an evening of testimony mtg. That's another benefit of breastfeeding.

I know nothing of "Cats" -- odd. I don't even know what music is in it. I think I heard too many negative comments and wasn't interested. I'm looking forward to the anniversary thing Meg and Tonya I don't think my anniversary thing was extravagant and I believe your 15th is this year which is a good milestone. We'll look forward to pictures of a younger you and Quinn.
