Back to normal

I've given myself some time from that last blog post to acclimate to being boy-less during the school hours. And I have to admit that it ain't so bad. Just me and the girls are here chillin' for 6 hours everyday. Let's include naptime and maybe this isn't such a bad thing......On the other hand, once 3:30 hits all those peaceful bits of the day become distant memories as the kitchen is torn apart in hopes of finding better snacks. Then there are the backpacks and lunch bags that seem to have bred overnight and seem to never quite make it to their designated homes. And there is no great place for the homework folders and info sheets and just random papers that seem to be sent home. Good thing we have a recycling box. Then we must also throw in an after-school meltdown. Or two. Or three.
And then there are the soccer games. All the boys are playing this year which can be quite the challenge logistically. But we made a spreadsheet to show which game Hub and I would attend  so each child feels equally loved. Just kidding. Mitch doesn't really care if anybody watches him since he's more into playing keep away with the ball and Hub is Ethan's coach so that leaves Isaac. And the girls get to play in the dirt. Fun evenings all around.
So yeah. Those peaceful hours of just me and my girlies doing girly things---Bring 'em on. I need me some peace.

What are you trying to do in that hoop? If you want your girls to learn some tricks, send them on over.

Think how many fun girly crafts you can make now! Lucky.

fun how that worked out - the boys flee and the girls are filled with glee! you need to start a new acronym similar to GNO to help you look forward to each day, like...GDO (Girls Day Out) or GDI (Girls Day In) depending on what your activities are for the day.

Your days sound pretty nice. My days are pretty quiet depending on Dan's mood. Afternoons are a bit on the wild side with everyone home and the things you listed. Clutter seems to be multiplying around here. We only juggle two soccer games and I help with Jake's so Derek usually gets to go to Connor's. Ah well. Enjoy your girls. They can come play with Dan sometime. He needs friends.

It probably feels like an empty house with just the girlies. I know my house feels pretty quiet on preschool days when it is just PJ and me.
I don't know how you juggle all of the soccer games.. or the after school chaos. I think it crazy with just one in school.

hula hooping is officially girly? shoot, wish I'd known that years ago... of course I wouldn't have been coordinated enough to do it anyway :)

and apparently you just need better after school snacks... as do I...

We had to give up soccer. I couldn't coach all three teams, and no one else would. Maybe if you and Leon could move in we could start in with the true sports again. For now, tennis and gymnastics.

Sometimes I wonder why we put up with organized sports. Couldn't the neighborhood kids just find a ball and head to the nearest sandlot;)

6 hours of peace is sounding really nice....like...realllly nice. Glad you're living it up with the hula hoops.
