Dis an' Dat

I can't move my pix around today. So I hope this order suits everyone just fine. Below we have a lovely look at our favorite part of the Colonial Village we visited during the 4th festivities. It was not the neat printing press in which you could copy the Declaration of Independence. It was most definitely not the corn husk doll we waited in line to make for Noelle (upon completing the bland doll Noelle immediately threw it on the ground. I think she was hoping they could make her a Barbie version out of husks) Nope, the highlight was the snow cone stop right outside the museum doors.

Ike and Mitch have been great readers this summer. Mitch whips through his little chapter books so fast we sometimes have to make a couple trips to the library in a week. It was Noelle's book choice however, that had the librarian giggling. It was entitled 'When Your Parent is in Prison'. I guess she wants to be prepared for anything. (Notice the tat on her arm to go with her Sunday finery? My kids are addicted to them! Whatever happened to stickers?)
And finally we have Mitch in his tee-ball glory. He improved a lot this year and seemed to actually know what was going on. Next week we start with swimming lessons and move onto the family reunions and campouts. I love summer.

quite the post...you guys are gettin' around! were you being vague about your "colonial" outing!?!? I know your sister scared you about putting too much info. on blogs : )
Noelle's hair was sooo cute in that photo! She is growing up NOT "before my eyes" : ( boo hoo!
swimming lessons...anxious to hear how they go! I'll miss chatting with you like last year! Ours are coming up. They don't heat the pool so I'm hoping it's HOT during those weeks so my kids enjoy their time in the pool!
I need to write you a real letter : ) I could go on and on...

I want to check out that book! Maybe that would help the kids be more glad I'm home with them instead of at the Pen.
I don't know what happened to our cornhusk dolls. The girls made some clothes from fabric and drew on faces for them, but they are all but lost now. How were kids so satisfied with such a plain and simple doll?

Snowcones, tattoos, baseball and now swimming. What else could you ever need to fill the summer days? I noticed towels drying on your railing today and thought to myself "I wonder if they started swimming this week" and now I see you have. TOO FUN!! Oh and I am not paranoid just chicken. LOL.

Shoot! We meant to go to the colonial fair and forgot. We went last year and the kids loved it. Sorry about the doll. Maybe it scared her. You ought to hide it in her room! LOL

Of course the snow cones were the highlight! It would be mine too. That picture is so cute! :)
